Site Changes

As you may have noticed, if you have ever been here before, the site is getting an update. I am in the process of reworking the whole site. I hope to have it done in a few days, so, please bare with me until I make it through this. Hopefully the new layout and direction I am taking the site will be better and I hope to post more often in the future. Thanks for stopping by and check back soon to see the finished site update.

Site update

I know it has been months since I have updated this, but my life has taken a weird turn. I am going to be updating the site to reflect that soon. Hopefully someone out there is still reading and the new stuff will interest you. Check back for the updates soon.

Packaging Research

As I have begun to sell more and more prints from my fine art series it has become apparent to me that I do not like just giving out my prints bare or on matt board. So for the past few hours I have been up researching different packaging for different products in hopes of inspiration. I have come up with a few ideas that I am really excited about and hope to put one of them to use. Tomorrow I have an appointment to deliver one of my prints to a customer and I hope to have come up with the first draft of my new packaging by then. I will post up what I come up with and hopefully I can get some feedback on it. Until then if you are into design and have some time to burn, go to Flickr and just search packaging. You will for sure find some awesome stuff.

Portfolio

My new fine art portfolio is up and I am really excited about it. All these images are made of anywhere from 5 to 35 layers. The base images are all from places that I have been that are special to me. I wanted to take this series in a different direction than my usual work. I think I have accomplished that. All images are available in limited quantity for purchase. If you are interested you can message me through the contact page and we can work out the particulars.

Finally

Finally I am getting some photos up. I am in the process of changing this over to my photography website, so please be patient with me. Over the next couple days the site will change many times as I refine it. My personal deadline is to have it done by Thursday. So check back often as I update the site.

Flop

As I sat at my desk today looking through my friends’ sites, as I do most days, I really got to thinking about how big of a flop my site is. I haven’t added any of my work to it, and it really isn’t a photography site, which it is supposed to be. Well before I go making promises that I can’t keep, I need to refine my portfolio into sections to put up. I am working on this and will hopefully have my new site up within the next few weeks. Until then I invite you to visit one of my friends’ sites. I would give you more than one to look at, but I might need to save them for later post, incase I don’t get my work up. Brandon Irby is a great talent and is for the most part self trained. He is working in our very own Tulsa area. So he is also local, and I love promoting the Oklahoma photography scene. So check him out, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Vacation

Tomorrow morning I leave for vacation. I am going to Flagstaff the first night, then to Las Vegas for a few days, up to Zion National Park in Utah for a day, then to Las Angeles for a couple days, back to Flagstaff and then home. It is obviously a road trip. I love road trips and I like going on them with new friends. There is no way to get to know someone better than by being stuck in a car with them for a week. This road trip consist of two vehicles and 16 people. Some of which I am good friends with, and others that I don’t even know their name yet. I am excited and nervous as I always am about a trip like this. Hopefully I will get the chance to update the blog while on my trip. I will try and post some photos along the way, but I will for sure be twittering the whole way. So I invite you to follow me on my adventure. You can follow me on twitter here. As always check back here often for new posts.

Flickr!

I have finally setup a Flickr account. Hopefully within the next week this site will actually have my photos on it. Until then, I have posted up a few minimally edited photos on Flickr. I will be posting photos on there that are not necessarily website worthy. So check it out and if you have an account please add me as a contact. Check out my Flickr here.

My first website.

This is my first website and I know I am coming a little late to the game. My name is Jarrett and I am an advertising student. I am also a tech junkie who spends a lot of time shooting photos. The site should be getting updates pretty regularly so check back often, since there is really no telling what will pop up. You might see anything from photos I have shot, stories about adventures I take, or even just posts about things I find interesting.
